1. Ask yourself, "Am I sure I want to do this?": By dying your hair a "different" color, people sometimes stop dead on their tracks just to look and point at you. Sometimes people to stop and pet your hair and give you compliments though <3. It's YOUR decision... I have to say, it's pretty fun <3

2. Go to your local beauty supply store (sally's beauty supply) (Hot topic might also have some of this stuff) and get a bleach kit, dye, toner, and a PH balanced shampoo. I recommend a Beyond Zone bleach kit (vol 40) because it makes your hair really light, You might also want to get more than one just incase the first box runs out. But sometimes Manic Panic might hurt a bit if you have a sensitive head, so if you're one of those people, ask the counter lady for some scalp friendly bleach. If you have really long hair, past your shoulders, get 2. If your hair is already blonde, you won't need to bleach your hair unless you want a really light shade of color, like cotton candy pink, Or if you want really shocking results. One bottle of dye covers shoulder length hair, if your hair is longer than that, you might want to consider buying more than one. For a toner, buy a blue-violet base toner and buy a bottle of developer.

3. Go home and bleach your hair. If you have really black or dark virgin hair or just really dark hair, you might want to leave in your bleach longer than an hour. If you have blonde hair don't leave in the bleach for too long, blonde hair just needs 15-20 minutes of bleaching and it's white! Also make sure you have an even color all around your head before dying it with the dye formula. If your hair is still yellowish after you bleach it, enough that you think that can effect the color, you might want to use your toner. All you have to do is mix it with the developer and let it sit in your hair for maybe about 45 minutes. Also, if you're looking on bleaching your hair twice than wait at least 24 hours until next application. This will help because it will let your natural oils soak into your hair so it wont over dry and it will also make it feel more healthy.

4. After bleaching, let your hair air dry. DO NOT BLOW DRY!! Blow drying will cause your hair to break because your hair is weakened by the bleach. You might want to put some kind of protein treatment overnight to make your hair healthier and to make it look not so gummy.

5. Take the dying formula and put it into a bowl, and mix it around. When it's all evenly mixed, divide your hair into four parts and start dying it piece by piece. Make sure you have old clothes on, and that the dye doesn't drip everywhere because it WILL stain!! You will also need gloves, the first time my sister did this she didn't use gloves and she had pink hands for 2 weeks. Also, don't get scared If the dye looks dark, when you rinse it off, it will look lighter. When I dyed my hair pink, the dye was dark purple but the name of it was Hot Hot pink. When I rinsed it off, it was bright pink. If you dye your hair blue, the formula may look black but it turns out shocking blue! When you have all the dye in, wait at least 15 minutes and rinse it off. You might want to wash your hair with your PH balanced shampoo. **NOTE Close your eyes while you take the dye off if you wear contacts. Your contacts will get dyed, your skin might too.  PUT YOUR MOUSE OVER THE VIEW SIGN TO SEE THE SECRET TIP <3

If You're doing Highlights it's the same process. Only, do not do the highlights by hand! Use a highlighting hat! You're most likely to mess up if you do them by hand.

Also here are a few tricks to make the dye stay in for a longer time!

1. Keep the dye in for longer than 15 minutes. The longer you keep it in, the longer it will stay in.
2. Add heat to it.
3. If you want a color that will stay in for a while, reds and pinks are it. They stay in the longest.
4. Wash your hair with conditioner (I wouldn't recommend this because you can get a grease build up ew.)
5. Get Manic Panic Colorizing shampoo
6. Get a demi-permanent dye like Special Effects which can be found at your local Hot Topic store.
